The Sweeney + Romeo Spy

The Kings of Harlow Town are back!

A special homecoming warm up show ahead of their London reunion for John Otway’s 5000th gig celebrations.

One of British music’s best kept pop secrets, The Sweeney have consistently turned the heads of discerning music listeners since their first year together. Having released five albums, the band matured into a force to be reckoned with, showcasing the songwriting brilliance of singer Murray Torkildsen.

Friday 6th May
Burnt Mill Snooker & Social Club – Edinburgh Way – Harlow CM20 2DQ

King Salami & The Cumberland 3 + The Mandelbrot Shakes

London’s greatest and most sensational Rhythm’n’Blues-Punk band. A band that truly represents London, being a mongrel mix of Caribbean, France, Japan and Spain. With a repertoire influenced by many of the great songs of the ’50s and ’60s made to sound fresh and new to modern ears, you won’t be able to help but move your feet when the Cumberland Three are blasting out of the speakers. The King howls like Screaming Jay Hawkins with Bo Diddley chasing his coat-tail whilst Andre Williams tries to offer up some of his bacon fat, and the Trashmen do the Surfin’ Bird behind him. This is a man that never stops shakin’ and twistin’ and groovin’.

Support from Brighton’s The Mandelbrot Shakes

Friday 15th July

The Len Price 3 + The Veras

Black Wax favourites The Len Price 3 return to Harlow. The Medway trio tour in support of their brand new album Ip Dip Do.

Support on the night from The Vera’s making their Harlow debut – you’ll recognise them as The Small Fakers but playing their own material.

The Snooker & Social club in Harlow is a real gem – it’s location right next to Harlow Town train station means its easily accessible for people across Herts & Essex. It’s 5 years this month since The Square closed, and following the last couple of years without much social activity we’re really excited to be putting these shows on.
We’ve pulled in some favours from some bands We’ve worked with previously, but also have some bands who will be making their Harlow debuts.
If ever there was a time for a coming together of live music fans, wanting to see more original and new bands in town, this is it – we’ve a couple more gigs to announce and there’s life in the town yet!

Tickets for all Harlow shows go on sale 9am Monday 17th January available from https://www.wegottickets.com/blackwax

The venue is right next to Harlow Town train station – the video above shows how to find it!
