Black Wax Live! Show 9

It happened! We managed to run a show with a live guest in front of an audience. It’s been the plan from the start and on Sunday 19th March we welcomed people into the live lounge to watch a special session by Murray Torkildsen.

For a show that hasn’t had a tech-hitch free run yet it was a bit of a risk to add a live element into the show, but with some extra help on hand we managed to run smooth transitions between the studio and the live room, with the audience in the live room and everyone tuning in at home hearing the full uninterrupted show. The standard has been set, and we’re already preparing for the next one!

Open Decks

Went to the Herald pub in Harlow this eve for their ‘Vinyl Junkies’ open decks night.

Didn’t really know what to expect, but I knew it was a musically open minded pub so packed a small box of mixed records.

Not a busy night by any means but it’s only the second one they’ve done so word will hopefully spread. I played around 40 mins. Was unsure of what would go down well but then one of the good things about a small crowd is that there are less people to impress.

It was a fun night and all the DJs were different, will try and get to the next one if I can though I think the idea of having a theme is a good one so they can pull an audience who are into what’s on. It seemed a bit like DJ club, bring your girl (or boy) friend along.
