Black Wax Music LTD is a proud member of the Association of Independent Promoters

Adam Smith’s Black Wax was a weekly radio show throughout 2017 which now exists as 30 podcasts (ok, might have skipped a few weeks) over at Mixcloud. Go have a look and listen and you’ll quickly catch on to what kinda music we’re dealing with here!

I’ve been a concert promoter at The Square in Harlow, Essex since 2001 up until the venue’s closure in 2017.

I have also promoted live and club events around the UK. I DJ’d the Rifles’ ‘No Love Lost’ 10th anniversary show at the Electric Ballroom (Camden) in 2015, Steve Diggle’s (Buzzcocks) album launch at the 100 Club (Oxford St.) in 2011 and at Butlins’ ‘Great British Alternative Festival’ in 2012.

I promoted one of the last ever UK shows for legendary Small Faces (and Faces, and Rolling Stones) organist, Ian ‘Mac’ McLagan.

Since 2007 I’ve also been a touring bassist for the Newtown Neurotics and more recently London power pop band Los Pepes. I’ve also played live for Eddie & The Hot Rods, Ed Tudor Pole and Chas Hodges.

In 2024 I promoted shows with US soul singer Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed in Glasgow and Manchester, our first promoting venture outside the London / Essex regions.

I ride a 1980 Vespa PX and like Kiss.

This site is a place to find out about upcoming events, read about general nonsense, hear good tunes and interact. Thanks for calling by.
