Apologies with the delay in listing the last 2 shows – it’s been a busy couple of weeks! Gigging has taken me back up to Manchester and then over to Serbia, both times with the Newtown Neurotics. Whilst I was off on bass duties my good pal Ricci Ashoori took control of the show for me, so no dead air and if you’re interested in Salt & Vinegar crips show 19 is the one for you!

What a show! It has been an absolute honour to host the king of power pop – Paul Collins!
Black Wax wouldn’t be Black Wax without something going wrong, but luckily it was with me in the studio. Listen to the show and all will be clear.
As for the live set, it was perfection! The reason for the delay with getting the show uploaded is that I wanted to do the performance justice so Sam the sound man took the audio away to mix it properly, and it sounds great!
We also had brand new songs from Radiohearts and Duncan Reid & The Big Heads, as well as some classic power pop. Enjoy!
Yes, it was back, the dodgy deck of dooooooom. But I don’t think it ruined the show, if anything it gave it character. A brand new track from Duncan Reid & The Big Heads kicks off this weeks show. It was also Steve Diggle of the Buzzcocks’ birthday so a great reason to give them a blast.

A bank holiday rockin’ special. Lots of full throttle rock n roll with the usual splattering of soulful sounds to compliment. Not just for a bank holiday Sunday though, no this can be listened to at any time of any day and for maximum enjoyment make sure you crank up the volume!
New show is ready to go! Some of these tracks have been nearly picked for the past few weeks but left behind. This week they get a well deserved airing, especially Do Me Bad Things… what a track! And here’s a secret especially for those reading this blog – I didn’t mean to play the Graham Coxon Libertines cover. The 45s have the wrong labels on and I didn’t listen to enough of it when queuing up to realise it wasn’t the right song!

It happened! We managed to run a show with a live guest in front of an audience. It’s been the plan from the start and on Sunday 19th March we welcomed people into the live lounge to watch a special session by Murray Torkildsen.
For a show that hasn’t had a tech-hitch free run yet it was a bit of a risk to add a live element into the show, but with some extra help on hand we managed to run smooth transitions between the studio and the live room, with the audience in the live room and everyone tuning in at home hearing the full uninterrupted show. The standard has been set, and we’re already preparing for the next one!
